What happens to money already paid if a project is cancelled, paused, or does not work out. We would rather set this out plainly upfront than argue about it later.
1. Deposits
The deposit reserves your delivery slot and covers discovery, planning and the work completed before the balance falls due. It is non-refundable once work has started, because that time cannot be recovered.
If you cancel before any work begins, the deposit is refunded in full less any transaction fees.
2. Cancelling a project mid-way
Either side may end a project in writing at any time. You are invoiced for work completed to that point and nothing further. Anything already produced is handed over.
Where you have paid ahead of the work completed, the difference is refunded within 14 days.
3. Monthly retainers
Hosting, maintenance, SEO, advertising and social retainers run month to month with no minimum term. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice and you are billed for that final month only.
Part-months are not refunded, because the work is delivered across the month rather than at a point in it.
4. Advertising spend
Your ad budget goes directly to Google or Meta from your own billing account. We never hold it and never mark it up, so there is nothing for us to refund. Our management fee follows the retainer terms above.
5. If the work is not right
Defects reported within 30 days of launch are fixed at no charge. If you believe the delivered work does not match the agreed proposal, tell us — we will either fix it or refund the disputed portion. We have no interest in keeping money for work that did not land.
6. How refunds are paid
Refunds are issued by the original payment method within 14 days of agreement. Bank transfer fees, where they apply, are deducted.
