Water damage SEO puts your restoration company in the Google map pack and in AI answers when a homeowner searches for help with a flooded basement or a burst pipe. We work on your business profile, service and city pages, reviews and structured data, then report the calls it brings in.
Someone standing in an inch of water does not scroll. They look at the map block at the top of the results, check the stars and tap call. Water damage restoration SEO is mostly about earning one of those three places in the towns you serve, then backing it up with pages that prove you do the exact job they need.
Six areas of work, each aimed at the searches a restoration company actually gets paid from.
Primary and secondary categories, service areas, photos of real jobs and vans, and a profile that is filled in completely. This is where most "water damage restoration near me" calls come from.
Water extraction, structural drying, sewage backup, flood cleanup: each service gets its own page, and each city you cover gets a page written about that city, linked to the services you offer there.
Structured data on every page states your business type, service area and opening hours, including round-the-clock availability when it is true, so search engines and AI tools read it the same way a homeowner does.
Review requests after each job, worded so customers tend to mention the work and the area. A review that names the job and the town tells the next homeowner, and Google, exactly what you did and where.
Short, direct answers under question headings, the same business details everywhere online, and listings on the sites AI assistants quote when someone asks them to recommend a restoration company.
Fast mobile pages, a phone number that can be tapped on every screen, clean page titles and no broken links. Small things, but a slow page loses an emergency caller in seconds.
Asking an AI tool for a local recommendation has become common. BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey of 1,002 US adults found 45% had used ChatGPT or another AI tool for local recommendations, up from 6% the year before.
These tools tend to name companies whose details match across the web, who have a steady stream of recent reviews, and who appear in the "best restoration companies in [city]" articles they read. That overlaps heavily with good local SEO, which is why we treat them as one job. Our AI search visibility page explains the free check we run.
Both Calgary clients get their local SEO from us, alongside their websites and Google Ads.

Service pages for drywall, bathroom and basement mold, inspection and remediation, so each search lands on a page about that exact problem rather than a general one.

| Map results (local pack) | Organic results | |
|---|---|---|
| Where they appear | The map block near the top of a local search | The ordinary listings below it |
| What feeds them | Your Google Business Profile, reviews and distance from the searcher | Your website pages, their content and the links pointing to them |
| What a homeowner sees | Name, star rating, hours and a call button | Page title, description and a link |
| What we work on | Categories, service areas, photos and review requests | Service and city pages, structured data and page speed |
Google’s own guide to local ranking names the three things behind the map results: relevance, distance and prominence (Google Business Profile Help).
City pages need genuinely local content. Google’s spam policies list pages targeted at specific cities that funnel users to one page as doorway abuse.
The AI figures quoted above come from BrightLocal’s Local Consumer Review Survey 2026, a panel of 1,002 US adults.
Review requests must stay honest: the FTC’s final rule on fake reviews, announced in August 2024, bans buying reviews or writing fake ones.
Google Business Profile fixes can show in the map results within a few weeks. New service and city pages usually take a few months to settle into their positions, longer in a big city with many established restoration companies. Ads can cover the gap while the SEO builds.
For every city where you really send crews and want work, yes, as long as each page says something specific about that area: response times, the kind of housing, the jobs you have done there. Pages that only swap the city name are what Google's spam policies call doorway pages.
Yes. ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI answers draw on much the same signals: consistent business details, reviews, clear service pages and mentions on other sites. Work that helps your map ranking usually helps your chances of being named in an AI answer as well, though nobody can guarantee either.
You need to be honest about your hours. If your crews answer around the clock, we say so on the site, in your business profile and in your structured data. If they do not, we set the real hours and use a missed-call text-back so night callers still hear from you first thing.
Ask every customer when the job is finished and the house is dry, with a short text that opens your Google review form. Reply to every review within a day or two, good or bad. Never buy reviews or reward people for them: Google removes them, and the FTC rule of 2024 bans fake reviews in the US.
Yes. Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode have no special requirements beyond normal SEO, and AI assistants lean on the same signals: accurate business details, reviews and clear pages. For a water damage company the map results still carry most emergency calls, so the same work serves both kinds of search.
Tell us the cities you cover. We will check where you appear in the map results for water damage searches in each one and send you the list, with the first three things we would fix.
